Description

Victorian Flutter is a 14 karat Yellow Gold Ruby, Rose Cut Diamond, Sapphire and Pearl Victorian Butterfly Pin.  This beautiful winged Butterfly features medium sized prong and bezel set oval Rubies as the outer Wings.  Rose cut prong and bezel set Diamonds fill in the wing span.  Two medium sized prong and bezel set Sapphires fill in the lower wings.  The body is comprised of small round prong and bezel set Seed Pearls.  The eyes are small round cabochon Ruby stones.  This Butterfly measures 2″ x 1 1/2″.  It has a special hinged screw in pin with loops in the middle to put a chain thru.  Hence, the pin back unsecrews and you can then screw in only the bale to wear as a Necklace (how ingenious).  Circa 1900’s.
